Professional Development for Teachers
Innovative Teacher Training
Penn GSE is engaged in ongoing research and development into the core teaching practices of project-based learning (PBL) within research projects and programs. Drawing on this research, Penn GSE offers highly innovative and experiential professional development programs for teachers.
The Penn GSE Teacher Professional Development program for the AC Curriculum engages educators in professional development that focus on project-based learning and its direct applications to teaching the AC Research Foundations curriculum.
The professional development program includes 10 hours of virtual synchronous sessions (five two-hour sessions led by Penn GSE scholars) and 10 hours of asynchronous homework.
Upon completion of the program, teachers should feel prepared and equipped to teach the veriii AC Research Foundations program curriculum, and will earn a lifelong Certificate of Participation in Project-Based Learning.
